Like many other stateless people within Thailand, Aunt Chan Fong has been in Thailand for years and was born here.
She is so grateful and proud to be thai and only wishes that many stateless people like her have the opportunity to have the right to education, health care and the ability to travel without restrictions due to lack of documentation.
My talks with her about her love for thailand and how proud she is of her heritage made my heart sink knowing she waited for most of her life to be thai. I have an immense amount of respect for her strength, hope and compassion. I really would like urge people to learn about statelessness and how you can help. 🥺

ถึงแม้เธอจะต้องรอเอกสารและหลักฐานนานแค่ไหน ความรักและเคารพความเป็นคนไทยของป้านั้นมั่นคงและยิ่งใหญ่เสมอ ป้าจันทร์ฟองรู้สึกขอบคุณและภูมิใจที่ได้เป็นคนไทยและหวังว่าคนไร้รัฐไร้สัญชาติจำนวนมากที่ต้องมีชีวิตเช่นเธอจะมีโอกาสได้รับการศึกษา การรักษาพยาบาล และความสามารถในการเดินทางโดยไม่มีข้อจำกัดและความหวาดกลัว
ยิ่งปูได้พูดคุยกับป้าจันทร์ฟองได้ฟังเกี่ยวกับความรักที่ป้ามีต่อประเทศไทยและความภาคภูมิใจที่เธอมีต่อชาติของเธอ ถึงแม้ว่าเธออาจจะต้องใช้ทั้งชีวิตในการขอสัญชาติก็ตาม และ ความห่วงใยผู้สูงอายุคนอื่นๆที่ไม่ได้สัญชาติ ปูยิ่งเคารพในความแข็งแกร่ง ความไม่ยอมหมดหวัง และความเมตตาที่มีอย่างมหาศาลของเธอ วันนี้ปูดีใจจริงๆที่ป้าได้เป็นคนไทยและมีบัตรแล้วค่ะ 😊💙 UNHCR ประเทศไทย
